The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. I was fortunate to be granted a Membership bursary and that was my introduction to the JCC. Growing up I have always been aware of its importance to the entire community – young and old, Jewish and non-Jewish.

But also the importance of giving when you can. My subsidized camp experience meant that I could come to the JCC and when I became successful in business, I knew it would be my privilege to give back to this wonderful institution. I now recognize that my role is to support important community and charitable organizations and my focus is in the areas of health care education and children’s welfare.

It was a privilege for my family – my parents, my brother, my fiancée, my children and especially for me – to contribute to the Tomorrow Campaign which enabled the rebuilding of the Bloor JCC to take place. And by bringing additional donors to the fore with the lead gift, the MNjcc now boasts a state-of-the-art Fitness Centre, wonderful schools and exceptional cultural arts and educational programs.

The Centre extends a broad reach into the community. We were given the opportunity to help develop the rebirth of the downtown Jewish Community Centre – the renaissance in fact – of downtown Jewish life itself. We dreamed of a place that was based on the heritage of the last 50 years that symbolized the evolution of the Jewish community and was also a community centre for the broader population living in the downtown core – a Centre where the walls virtually breathed with sights and sounds and smells, where new memories would be created and old ones rekindled.

The Dream Downtown continues and is growing everyday. You must be a part of it. I have known it since childhood. This is “Where You Belong”.
