Toronto Jewish Film Society -2010 Series

An outstanding subscription series of eight film events on select Sundays throughout the year in the Al Green Theatre. The TJFS invites noted speakers to introduce and discuss our films.

  • Two screenings: 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm
  • $15 General Admission
  • $10 ages 18-29 (7:30 pm screening only)
  • Rush seats on sale 15 minutes before each screening

Memberships: $95 for 4:00 PM & 7:30 PM Screenings

2009 Canadian Jewish Playwriting Competition Winner: Martyrs Street by Misha Shulman

Martyrs Street portrays the two intersecting stories of a Palestinian family whose son has embraced terrorism, and a cell of extremist Jewish settlers as they do everything to hold onto their homes and keep their families intact. Directed by Chris Abraham.

2011 Submission Deadline: June 30, 2011

The jury consists of representatives from the arts community. Three previous contest winners have been published and have hit the commercial stages: Einstein’s Gift by Vern Thiessen, Sara’s Cave by Don Molnar and Yahrzeit by Alex Poch Goldin.

Prizes for winning play:
